If I'm having trouble thinking of something, I just look around the room and focus on an object. If I think a bit, I can come up with something surrounding that one thing.

Of course usually I just borrow from my life, so there's a lot of office stuff and some mom stuff this year.

When I first started writing sketches, I leaned towards character sketches. Then for awhile it was "two awkward people have an awkward conversation with lots of awkward pauses" sketches. Now I'm trying to come up with actual premises.

I've never really wanted to write fantastical stuff, like talking toasters or aliens. I am more comfortable with humans doing human things. Maybe next year I will tackle talking toasters.

Doing all right and really loving it!

I'm getting this done mostly by lowering my standards without hesitation and picking the simplest ideas I can muster!

But it is very satisfying. I'm 4 behind right now -- might bang out some right now.

I've written 3 I may take with me and rewrite after this is all done.

I wrote 2 sketches today to make up for missing yesterday. I had to FORCE myself to post the second one because, "It wasn't done yet." Then I got all caught up in the fact that my first sketch was, "Sigh. Another office situational." But you know what? I posted them. QUANTITY! I think the plan is to have a main site where people can publish their progress on how many sketches they've done, link up this blog and then publish whatever selections they'd like on the blog for public consumption. We're working on it!

This sounds great. So, were you thinking people would just post their scripts by pasting them in as blog entries? Might be the simplest way to go, though maybe there's some bored web person out there who wants to come up with something cleverer?
